Idea Incubation

“If at first, the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it.” – Albert Einstein
Idea Incubation:  Idea incubation is birthed out of our experience in the for-profit startup world, but applying it to the not-for-profit and social good sectors. Through idea incubation we will walk alongside individuals or teams who have a vision and a dream that aligns with our mission of “creating organized communities of hope.” We are a startup incubator and catalyst for those doing social justice work.
The heart of idea incubation is the focus and method by which Paul did missions in the first century. Paul built churches, he trained leaders and then he turned them over to them while continuing to be their spiritual father. So, for us the process is encompassed in the following steps:
  • Incubation – the development of ideas
  • Birth – the birth of the idea into “something” for or non-profit
  • Building – the building of that “something” into something greater
  • Training – the building of people and especially leaders and equipping them for the mission
  • Let Go – the letting go of the primary reigns to the leaders we have trained and equipped
  • Renew – the process of starting it all over again
“We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.” – Max De Pree
